St Christopher's Constitution
Do you ever get annoyed about school rules always telling you that you can’t do this and you can’t do that? To be fair, though, there’s usually a reason for having rules. Take having a school council constitution, for instance. This is a document, agreed upon by the school council, which sets down how members of the school council should work together. It helps people to be clear about things like who should be represented in meetings and who can vote; when and where meetings happen; how and when elections are held; what the different jobs are, and what to do when difficult situations arise. Just having a constitution isn’t enough, though. It’s important that the council keeps looking at the constitution to check that it’s still working, and whether anything needs to be changed. So you can see that having a constitution is really helping council members in St Christopher’s to understand their roles and responsibilities, and to work positively to improve their school.
