Llangyfelach Primary School: Children’s Rights
As an introduction to children’s rights, pupils worked on the 42 articles beginning with a balloon activity, deciding which right they felt was most important. They illustrated these as part of a display then created adverts for children’s rights using multi-media presentation techniques together with music to create a powerful message. This is being used to help children in the other classes of the school learn about children’s rights and how they feel about them.
The pupils also reflected on the activities and were moved and empowered by the whole topic. They were keen to send their videos to “important” people who should “know about it”. This will now act as a springboard for bringing pupil voice further to the fore of what we do in Llangyfelach.

As a result we have registered for the Rights Respecting Schools award.
