UNCRC

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) is an international agreement that 192 countries worldwide, including the United Kingdom, have signed up to. The Convention gives all children and young people under the age of 18 years old their own set of rights or “articles”.

The Welsh Government takes the UNCRC very seriously. This is shown by the way the Welsh Government involves children and young people in making policies, and in planning and developing services. Young people have also been involved in important appointments – such as the Children’s Commissioner for Wales.
